The goal of this blog - Living Debt Free in Toronto - is to share debt management, budgeting, expense cutting and all-round useful information with people who are learning to live on a budget. Designed for everyone in the Greater Toronto Area who wants to see more of their pay cheque at the end of the month - this blog is here to help you get started on your debt free life.
Much of the information contained here was learned by our Consumer Proposal & Bankruptcy clients, many of whom found themselves facing the need to live on a budget for the first time in their lives. As well, our staff contributes greatly with their excellent ideas and feedback. We look forward to hearing from you, our readers – your suggestions, hints and ideas will go a long way to sharing the message of ‘Living Debt Free in Toronto’.
At the base of living debt free is knowing exactly where you are financially, and in order to do that – you need to be on a budget that will work for you.
At the bottom of these posts are a series of five articles that discuss how to set up and succeed on a budget. Since having a budget is the key to living a debt free life – we started our blog with a great series on how to create and use a budget successfully. Take your time reading through and implementing each step – it is not a race, the longer you take at this early stage the easier it will be for you in the long run. Having said that, don’t be afraid to dive in – the most important thing is that you start the process and then begin to live on your budget. You will naturally be making adjustments as you go along so don’t wait for perfection – begin today.
